I accept psychotherapy clients for psychodynamic psychotherapy, which focuses on attachment, family dynamics, and how our early life shapes and impacts our current functioning. Sometimes this is a longer term therapy approach, but I work with you to determine scheduling, and what time frame works best for you. This could be a few sessions, or a regular weekly session for several months or even years. Most clients start out with weekly sessions, and decrease to monthly sessions, or booster sessions as needed, over time. The length of time in therapy is completely individual.
Clients who have had a significant trauma history including physical, emotional, or sexual abuse often struggle with trust, and significant disruptions in relationships. A longer term approach is sometimes most helpful, allowing time for exploration of both present day and past relationships.
